Dragons of Normandy
Dragons are the companions of vampires, and a select few valkyrie. They are bonded through a combination of imprinting and magical blood pact, which allows them to recognize the blood of their relatives should anything happen to their original companion. Despite this, they do not typically allow a second rider once their companion has died. Vampires, on the other hand, are able to take more than one dragon so long as their previous one is deceased.
